Cycling in the City – Jane’s Walk Community Ride

May 5 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

We’re excited to be leading a community ride as part of Jane’s Walk Halifax! Jane’s Walk is a movement of free, volunteer-led walking conversations, inspired by Jane Jacobs, which encourages people to share stories about their neighbourhoods, discover unseen aspects of their communities, and connect with their neighbours through walking.

Join us on May 5th at 2pm (at the Oval on the Halifax Commons) for Cycling in the City, a community Jane’s Walk Ride. The ride will take riders from the Halifax Commons to Point Pleasant Park and back, and will be approximately 10 km in total. The purpose is to help people feel more comfortable cycling in the city, and to experience different types of cycling infrastructure. We will have a stop in Point Pleasant Park to discuss cycling infrastructure, safe cycling, and more. Participants should bring their bike, a bike helmet, water, and anything else they need to feel comfortable on their bike!
