Provincial Development Team

Provincial Development Team

Cycling Nova Scotia is committed to providing our province’s youth with guidance, skill development and leadership to help prepare developing athletes for future provincial and national competitions. Members of this program will form the provincial development team/pool and attend team development training camps and competitions led by provincial and developing coaches.
The goal of the program is to bring athletes together in a team environment to acquire and perfect critical cycling skills. Athletes will be introduced to mountain bike and road training structure, provided opportunities to interact with provincial coaches, socialize with other athletes and train for major events.
The development team will focus on youth who will compete provincially, are Canada Games 2025 eligible and those wishing to further improve their race performances.

Inclusion in the team will require athletes to apply outlining their riding experience, athletic background and cycling goals. This program is not intended to replace or substitute an athlete’s involvement with their local club, but further enhance their development and training opportunities.

The Provincial MTB Development Team is the first step to Athletic Excellence and access to National competition.
