Ride Options:

Gaetz-Brook – Trail Rides (beginner focused)

When: First Friday of the month at 7:00pm

Location: Gaetz-Brook Greenway

These rides are great for beginners who are just starting out, or are looking for a fun social ride!

Halifax – Gravel Rides (beginner and intermediate)

When: Mondays at 6:30pm

Location: These rides will visit Shubie park, Sackville, and Dartmouth areas:

Sackville Provincial Park – 440 First Lake Dr, Lower Sackville, B4C 3L2 (June 17, July 15, August 12)

Shubie Park – 54 Locks Rd/Fairbanks Centre (May 27, June 24, July 22, August 19)

BLT (Beechville Lakeside Timberlea) – Beechville Park Dr, Beechville, B3T 1L1 (Just 3, July 29, August 26)

Shearwater Flyer Trail – Caldwell Road, Dartmouth, B3G 1A7 (June 10, July 8, August 5)

*There will not be a ride on July 1st. 

These rides are great for those just getting back on their bikes…or starting out. It’s time to get social!

Halifax – Mountain Bike Rides (beginner)

When: Wednesdays at 6:30pm

Location: 

Month of May – Shubie Park (54 Locks Rd, Dartmouth)

June 26th – Nine Mile River Trails (1143 Enfield Rd.)

July 3rd – Macdonald Sports Park (280 Champions Way, Waverley NS)
July 10th – Orange Jelly Trailhead (Sarah Dr, Herring Cove entrance)
July 17th – Shubie Park (54 Locks Rd, Dartmouth)
July 24th – Irishmans Rd Recreation Site (151 Irishmans Rd, Windsor NS)
July 31st – The Farm Top Sail Lake (400 Golf View Dr, Dartmouth)
August 7th – The Gore Trails (2001 hwy 202, Kennetcook, NS)
August 14th – Shubie Park (54 Locks Rd Dartmouth)
August 21st – No official ride. Both Annette & Jenna away on vacation. We encourage you all to meet up and ride without us 🙂
August 28th – The Farm Top Sail Lake (400 Golf View Dr, Dartmouth)
Sept 4th – Norawarren Trailhead McIntosh Run Trails (Norawarren Dr, Herring Cove NS)

These rides are ideal for women of all ages including those who have not ridden in forever, if at all! Throughout the summer you will work toward building the strength and skill set to ride beginner mountain bike trails comfortably!

***Interested in joining this ride but aren’t ready to buy a mountain bike? Thanks to Halifax Cycles and Devinci Cycles we have 2 mountain bikes available to borrow! Please reach out to Annette ([email protected]) to sign a waiver. You must be a CNS member to borrow these bikes.

Halifax – Road & Gravel Rides (beginner and intermediate)

When: Various weekends throughout the summer. Details will be announced in the WoW Cycling Club – Halifax/Dartmouth Facebook group.

Location: Depending on the group, these rides will visit areas further away from Halifax central.

These rides are great for those looking to explore a little more and go a little further. Rides will range in distance from 20kms – 40kms.
