Cycling Nova Scotia is committed to exposing youth to competitive cycling through skill development, leadership and a positive competitive experience. Whether a rider is trying their first race, looking to improve on existing results or dreaming of Olympic success, CNS is devoted to being a crucial part of their development process.

Riders looking to participate in racing can become part of the community either independently or by joining an existing club. Joining a local club will give the rider access to an existing membership, ride schedule and competition knowledge. Consult our website or visit your local bike shop for more info. Riders can also participate in regional races independently by simply buying a membership license, consulting our event schedule and signing up.

We strive to ensure cyclists of all ages receive the opportunity to engage in fun, meaningful competition by using the PEDAL model of youth athletic development:

    • Performance
    • Excellence
    • Development
    • Athleticism
    • Leadership

Our Development Team Program focuses on youth aged 14-17 who are interested in building on their skills in cycling. This program brings together athletes in a team environment to acquire and perfect critical bike skills. Emphasis is placed on growing a passion for competition through quality coaching, structured practice sessions in a fun social environment.

Our Performance Team Program focuses on creating a foundation for excellence at provincial and national competitions. Athletes in this program have already had some success in competitive cycling, but are looking for the tools, resources and structure crucial to performing on a national level.

Whether you’re interested in learning about competition or dream of success at the national level, Cycling Nova Scotia can provide you with the support to get there.
