On April 30th, Cycling NS held a Special Meeting for Members to discuss the recent devastating Provincial Budget. With the loss of funding, combined with an almost doubling of insurance premiums since our last price increase (pre covid, over 6 years ago), we have come up with reasonable but necessary changes to the membership cost. These price changes were passed at the meeting and via email vote and include:
- Removing Provincial Race Licenses (those who hold a Provincial Race License in 2026 already will not require any additional license)
- Raising General Membership price to $75+tax and allowing any General Members to participate in any Cycling NS races, events and programs.
- Family memberships will change to 15% off each additional member after the first, up to a max of 5 members.
- Change of UCI licenses from 4 categories to 2 categories (U17 and 17+)
- One Event Membership name changed to Event Insurance. The Event Insurance will be raised to $25 and $15 for Youth at Short Track events. This charge can be applied to a General Membership or UCI license if you decide to join.
These changes were taken with much consideration and, although challenging, the financial situation with increasing insurance costs and less money in grant revenue have made these changes required. We truly hope that you will understand the situation and continue to support Cycling NS during this challenging time.
These changes will be implemented immediately and if you already have your membership in 2026, there is no action required.
