Insurance Policy Review
Over the past two years, Bicycle Nova Scotia has been working to ensure that we are doing our best in providing our members and member organizations with the most cost effective and appropriate insurance coverage for competitive and non-competitive activities. We’ve committed to make bicycling better in Nova Scotia, no matter how, when or what you ride. Why the review?
We have long held an insurance policy with Holman Insurance through our affiliation with Cycling Canada Association (CCA). This has served to ...

At our 2017 Annual General Meeting, to be held in Wolfville on February 26th, we will be holding our annual elections for our board. HRM is asking residents to share their ideas about priorities for the 2017 Budget. An online forum and budget allocator tool is now open at Shape Your City. Let’s tell Councilors that it’s time to invest in bicycle networks that are safe, well connected, and work for everybody!

Nine athletes from the province, including five members of the provincial cycling team, which was reestablished in 2016 after a 13 year gap – attended the races held on November 5 and 6th.
Lorenzo Caterini won the National Jersey in his first year of Masters Men 50+, finishing an impressive year of competitive cycling. He now holds 3 National ...

The death of Loresa Makonin on October 8th, was exactly what BNS had hoped would not happen. Together with the Halifax Cycling Coalition, we hosted a memorial ride to celebrate her life, love of cycling, and to draw attention to the long road ahead to ensure that we do more to ensure that cyclists have safe infrastructure and that drivers know to watch for cyclists.
Just a few short weeks before Loresa’s accident, BNS convened a special issue meeting on bicycle safety because of increasing concern about ...
